Board Eligibility and Elections

SWCD director elections occur every two years during the General Election.

Any registered voter living in a conservation district with at least 250,000 people can now run for all board positions. The next General Election is scheduled to take place on November 3 2026. This year, BSWCD has two Director positions open for election: Zones 1, 4 and 5. Currently, there are no nominees for Zones 4&5. Voters are welcome to write in a candidate, but the votes will only be counted if the write in candidate has submitted paperwork by 10/20/2026 to ODA. That link is here: Declaration of Intent and Request for Write-In Votes to be Tallied for District Director
