Rolando is a resident of Alsea, Oregon where he and his spouse own a four acre parcel managed for gardening, farming, native plant cultivation, and riparian and upland ecosystem enhancement. His career as a Botanist has included almost ten years of native ecosystem restoration in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. As a restoration practitioner, his work has primarily focused on enhancing grasslands that have been inundated with invasive species creating suitable habitat for threatened, endangered, and/or rare plants and animals. Rolando has a passion for protecting ecosystem services provided by ash and birch trees and works to support tree preservation. In the fall rainy season, he stays busy entertaining his enthusiasm for fungi and lichen identification.
